Our workshop in the Rio Grande Valley offers unmatched photography opportunities to both serious and amateur bird photographers. During the 3 day workshop, we shoot from multiple hides and target various species from the valley that are both residents and migrants. Come join a tour that you will cherish for a long time to come.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • This is a very relaxed trip and involves very little walking 

 

 

SUGGESTED GEAR:

 

  • Digital SLR 

  • Your longest telephoto lens 

  • A wide angle if you are interested in landscapes 

  • A flash with flash bracket (optional gear)

TECHNICAL LEARNINGS

  • Basics of using fill flash in tropical bird photography 

  • Selection and set up of perches 

  • Post processing of images using Lightroom and Photoshop  

COST & TERMS 

  • The cost of this tour is USD 1050 per person in shared accommodation. 

  • Non-photographer spouse cost is USD 650  

  • Single supplement costs an additional USD 175 

  • A deposit amount of USD 1000 is required to book your spot

PAYMENT POLICY

20% payment to confirm your seat and the remaining 60 days before the trip start date. 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY 

Booking amount is non-refundable. 

Remaining amount - 80% refund if canceled before 30 days of the tour. No refund beyond that period 

 

HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS AT THE WORKSHOP

We usually try not to exceed 6 photographers per workshop to give our guests a unique experience. 

 

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHY GEAR TO BRING? 

We recommend bringing your longest telephoto lens, preferably 300mm or longer. Full frame camera is highly recommended. Pack a ton of memory cards as well. 

 

A sturdy tripod or monopod is required

WHAT KIND OF NON-PHOTOGRAPHY GEAR TO BRING?

Laptop, memory card readers, bug spray, sunscreen, silica gel sachets to keep your camera dry  

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We recommend that you purchase travel insurance to protect your trip investment and yourself while traveling. 

 

Our tours do not take the liability for your flight cancelations, medical expenses, gear damage, accidents, natural disasters, extended stays and other unforeseen emergencies.
