WORKSHOP ITINERARY

Day 1 - Arrival at Campo Grande CGR Airport in the morning
Upon arrival, our driver will be waiting outside the main exit holding a sign with your names on it.

Once the full group is together we will start our journey to South Pantanal. The drive from Campo Grande to Pousada Aguape takes approximately 2 hours. Once we arrive we will have lunch and start photographing all the beautiful birds that come to the feeders just in front of the restaurant.
After a great lunch, we will get ready to go on our first safari in search of Giant Anteater and other wildlife. The sunsets are beautiful here as well!

Day 2 – We will start our day with a good cup of coffee and soon depart for our morning safari. Morning light is good and we have to take advantage of it! We will be back for a late breakfast. The rest of the morning will be spent at the Pousada grounds taking photos of birds coming to the feeders. Including Toco Toucan, Nanday & Monk Parakeets, Blue-and-yellow & Hyacinth Macaws, Red-crested Cardinal, and many more!
In the afternoon we will have another safari in search of more wildlife.

Day 3 – After breakfast and enjoying the bird feeders one more time, we will depart to our next location, Pousada Olho de Agua. In the afternoon we will visit Buraco das Araras where we will photograph Red-and-green Macaws in flight. The drive takes approximately 4 hours.

Day 4 – After breakfast, we will visit Buraco das Araras one more time to photograph Red-and-green Macaws in flight in the morning light. After enjoying this beautiful morning show, we will make our way back to Campo Grande where we will spend the night. The drive will take around 4 hours.

Day 5- On this day we will take a morning flight from Campo Grande to Cuiaba. Once we arrive we will drive to Pantanal Norte, covering a section of the Transpantaneira Highway. On arrival at our lodge, we will go on to photograph new species of birds!

Day 6 – After breakfast, we will depart to Porto Jofre continuing our way on the Transpantaneira Highway all the way to the end.  This dirt road crosses the Pantanal, in the state of Mato Grosso. It is 147 km long and crosses 122 wooden bridges with lots of wildlife along the way! Once we arrive at our lodge we will have lunch and then get ready for our first boat safari looking for Jaguars!

Day 7 - Full-day boat ride safaris in search of Jaguars and other wildlife.

Day 8 – After breakfast, we will start our drive back to Cuiaba. The photo opportunities along this road are incredible, so keep your cameras handy! The drive can take around 5 hours but we will be stopping on the way when opportunities for photos are presented.

Day 9 – On this day we will have a morning flight to Sao Paulo.
Once we arrive in the big city we will make our way to the Atlantic Forest, where will be photographing new species of Toucans, Tanagers, and Hummingbirds.
The drive can take from 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic.

FAQ's

How do I book a spot on your tour?
Our photo tour pages have detailed itineraries, costs, species lists, policies, terms & conditions. You should read them carefully, and then contact us via our Contact form or email us at info@tropicalphototours.com

What are the payment and cancelation terms?
A ‘non-refundable’ deposit of USD 1000 of the Tour fee as a booking amount to reserve your spot
• The remaining balance is due in full 90 days before the start of the tour. If you would like to pay the remaining balance in installments, please let us know.
• All figures in USD per person
• Failure to make payments within this timeline could result in tour cancellation.
• A deposit is your commitment to joining the workshop. These deposits don’t typically sit in an account, they are used to cover initial expenses for the workshop like hotel reservations, park permits/fees, and guided tour deposits. Due to these expenses, deposits are non-refundable and tour payment made is subject to a cancellation fee.

If canceled by you?
More than 60 days before the start of the tour: Refund of workshop payment (not including deposit), less $100 convenience fee.
60 – 45 days before the start of the tour: Refund of 50% of workshop payment (not including deposit), less $199 convenience fee.
Less than 45 days before the start of the tour: No refunds will be given, and all payments will be forfeited. Full payment is required no later than 45 days prior to departure. If full payment is not received by this date you will be notified by email. If you do not respond within 3 business days, your spot will be forfeited and offered to participants on the waiting list.
Please note: The date of written (email) communication of intent to cancel is the date considered for the calculation of the cancellation fees. CANCELLED WORKSHOPS: If we are forced to cancel a workshop for any reason, your entire payment will be transferred to another comparable workshop within one calendar year

Do you have an option for single occupancy accommodation, if yes, then what is the cost?
The single occupancy/supplement cost is detailed on the photo tour pages.

Suppose I am a solo participant and do not wish to opt for a single supplement. How do I go about it? Especially if there is no one ready to share the room.

Since all lodges and hotels bill for double rooms, we are associated with single supplement charges, we will have to book you a single room at the supplement price mentioned for each tour. Alternatively, we can also find a perfect roommate for you based on your gender, age, and interests. If a roommate is not available, a single supplement will be charged.
